Director / Vice President – Technology & Architecture Strategy

About the role

This senior position leads technology and architecture strategy for a fast‑growing life‑science technology company. You will guide the transition from a hardware‑centric product line to a software and AI‑enabled platform, shaping the future of laboratory automation.

Key responsibilities

• Define problems and system logic, clearly communicating challenges to stakeholders.
• Own the architecture discipline across hardware, firmware, software, cloud, and AI layers.
• Apply software development principles to hardware interfaces, making complex instrumentation intuitive for end‑users.
• Lead the design and delivery of the next‑generation software platform, integrating AI capabilities into unified, workflow‑level experiences.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Engineering, Applications, Product, and Commercial teams to align architecture with technical constraints and commercial priorities.

Required profile

• More than 10 years of experience in systems architecture, platform engineering, or related disciplines.
• A genuine problem‑first thinker, comfortable structuring ambiguous challenges before seeking solutions.
• Experience building consumer‑facing or non‑expert‑facing interfaces for complex technical products.
