Divisional Director, Standards & Surveillance

About the role

The statutory board is seeking a Divisional Director to lead its standards‑setting and regulatory surveillance functions. You will shape the strategic direction for public accountant regulation, drive transformation initiatives, and represent Singapore in key international forums.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Practice Monitoring Programme and Financial Reporting Surveillance Programme.
• Ensure high‑quality inspections of public accountants and accounting entities.
• Advise the Accounting Standards Committee on technical accounting matters.
• Lead periodic reviews of legislation and policies to keep them robust.
• Represent the organisation at IFIAR, IASB, AARG and other international regulatory bodies.
• Drive process improvements, AI and data‑enabled approaches to enhance regulatory effectiveness.
• Develop talent pipelines and strengthen leadership capabilities within the division.
• Contribute to senior leadership team decisions and organisation‑wide priorities.

Required profile

• Extensive accounting and auditing experience with deep knowledge of accounting standards (SFRS/IFRS) and auditing standards (SSA/ISA).
• Senior leadership experience at director level, managing large teams.
• Exposure to regulatory or standards‑setting environments.
• International engagement experience with bodies such as IFIAR or IASB.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with government agencies and professional bodies.

What we offer
