Divisional Director, Surveillance and Standards Division

About the role

The Divisional Director leads ACRA’s Surveillance and Standards Division, overseeing the Financial Reporting and Standards Department and the Inspection Department. This senior position drives high‑quality financial reporting and professional standards for public accountants in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to the division’s management and staff, and to international secretariats such as IFIAR, IASB and AARG.
• Develop talent, strengthen leadership bench, and build a sustainable pipeline for future priorities.
• Lead transformation initiatives, including process improvements and adoption of AI‑enabled, data‑driven approaches.
• Contribute to ACRA’s senior leadership team, shaping enterprise‑wide strategy beyond the division.
• Conduct environmental scanning of accounting and auditing standards, and monitor international economic developments.
• Engage with public accountancy stakeholders, company directors, audit regulators and professional bodies to address emerging issues.
• Guide periodic review and updating of legislation and policies, ensuring relevance and robustness.
• Liaise with the Ministry of Finance and other government agencies to advance ACRA’s mission.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in accounting and auditing, with deep technical knowledge of standards.
• Proven leadership and management capabilities, including experience leading change.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, both locally and internationally.
• Ability to provide strategic and technical advice to regulatory committees.
