EHS Engineer – Fire Safety & HSE Management

About the role

The EHS Engineer will act as the Fire Safety Manager, ensuring full compliance with Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) fire safety regulations and overseeing the company's health, safety and environment (HSE) framework. This role combines strategic development of HSE policies with hands‑on implementation across plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the Fire Safety Manager (FSM) to maintain compliance with SCDF fire safety regulations, fire protection systems and fire prevention management.
• Develop, implement and review the company’s HSE management system, policies and supporting documentation.
• Plan and execute HSE programmes, campaigns and training to promote a strong safety culture.
• Conduct and participate in HSE inspections, audits, drills and WSH committee meetings, acting as Committee Secretary.
• Lead accident and incident investigations and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Review and audit permits, safe work practices, method statements and risk assessments for operational compliance.
• Maintain and oversee the Plant’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Required profile

• Registered Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer with MOM.
• Certified Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with SCDF.
• Minimum five years of hands‑on experience managing safety responsibilities within an HSE department.
• At least three years of experience in manufacturing or chemical plants, preferably with exposure to Jurong Island operations.
