Emergency Preparedness Manager / Assistant Director

About the role

This officer works within a team of government and private organisations to meet national interests, focusing on emergency preparedness and crisis management. The role is based in MPA-Alice Mediapolis.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate contingency plans to mitigate peacetime crises and emerging risks from climate change and hazards linked to new energy sources such as green fuels.
• Review the MPA Crisis Management framework and contingency plans.
• Conduct regular crisis management exercises to validate operational readiness and coordinated responsiveness.
• Support the development of emergency preparedness systems' capabilities and the knowledge management of emergency preparedness information.
• Plan and evaluate training and exercises.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience developing emergency plans and exercise planning.
• Past experience in the shipping, logistics or supply chain industry is an added advantage.
• Highly driven, organised, able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, writing, communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and in a team.

What we offer

• A 2-year contract initially, with possible extension or permanent appointment.
