Equipment Maintenance Specialist

About the role

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of port equipment by promptly handling breakdowns and performing routine maintenance. The role supports both corrective and preventive maintenance activities while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Carry out daily maintenance tasks according to the vessel schedule and routine checklists.
• Assist the Corrective & Preventive Maintenance Section with specific jobs as required.
• Create and close work orders in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system for every task.
• Monitor the SCADA system from the Central Control Room for T1 and T2 cement terminals and the RMC Eco‑plant.
• Complete daily tasks assigned by the Incident Controller.
• Support engineers in inspecting and commissioning new equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum NITEC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Port Equipment Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in seaport cargo‑handling maintenance or a related industrial environment.
• Willingness to work shifts and respond promptly to call‑backs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Required skills

• Basic Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).
• Knowledge of AC/DC motors.
• Understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to install and maintain electrical circuitry and equipment up to 415 V.
