Executive/Senior Engineer/Architect (Building Plan and Policies)

About the role

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) regulates building safety and leads the transformation of Singapore's built environment toward a safe, high-quality, sustainable and friendly environment. It is looking for a solutions-driven, energetic and self-motivated person to join its Building Plan and Policies Department, playing a key role in administering and shaping building regulations and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve building plan submissions, evaluating designs for safety, environmental sustainability and barrier-free accessibility
• Develop strategies, policies and processes so the building control framework stays robust and future-ready
• Analyse data and industry trends to support evidence-based policy decisions
• Manage complex feedback cases and investigate potential violations of the Building Control Act and Regulations, taking enforcement action where needed
• Work with partner agencies to create a pro-business environment for the construction industry

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Architecture or a building-related discipline
• At least 3-4 years of experience in building design or construction supervision preferred
• Expertise in a technical area under the Approved Document is an advantage
• Good command of spoken and written English
