Facilities Technician (Day Shift)

About the role

West Pharmaceutical Services is hiring a Facilities Technician for an onsite day-shift position in Jurong. The team member must be present for all scheduled workdays; no relocation assistance is provided. The role covers the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of facility systems and utility equipment so that plant operations run continuously and efficiently, in line with safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on critical utilities and equipment such as chillers, boilers and air compressor systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain cooling towers, air handling units, pumps and other HVAC systems.
• Oversee the Water Treatment Plant, keeping Purified Water, Water for Injection, Clean Steam Generation and RO systems within specified limits.
• Maintain documentation, logbooks, SOPs and maintenance records.
• Manage contractors and ensure compliance with workplace safety and permit-to-work requirements.
• Support energy-saving initiatives, continuous improvement projects and plant shutdowns.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITE in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities and utilities maintenance (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Able to work shifts and respond to emergencies when required.
• Preferred: EMA electrical license, boilermaker license, familiarity with PW, WFI, clean steam and HVAC, understanding of GMP and permit-to-work systems, ability to work in cleanrooms.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of HT/LT switchgear, transformers, MCCBs, protection relays and electrical distribution.
• Experience with VSD, soft starters, sensors and temperature controllers.
• Troubleshooting electrical systems and reading electrical SLDs.

The shift pattern is 2-2-3, 7 am to 7:15 pm. Physical exertion of up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently is required.
