Facilities Technician - UPW & WWTP

About the role

Micron is hiring a Facilities Technician for its Fab 10A site to provide engineering support for the operation and maintenance of the Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) systems. The role offers exposure to the technology, accelerated training in a fast-paced environment and cross-functional work opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, maintenance and monitoring of UPW and WWTP systems, keeping them running efficiently and within specified parameters
• Ensure quality control of water and wastewater systems, maintain regulatory compliance and carry out regular inspections
• Troubleshoot routine and non-routine problems to restore service after system failures, and respond quickly to out-of-spec conditions and plant interruptions
• Identify issues that affect system stability and reliability and implement improvements to prevent recurrence
• Enforce safety compliance and government regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Permit to Work (PTP) and Risk Assessment (RA)
• Work with system engineers on environmental sustainability projects such as energy reduction, water conservation and waste recycling
• Liaise with contractors and vendors on corrective and preventive maintenance programs, and perform in-house PM/CM according to SOP, RA and PTP requirements
• Generate and update maintenance work orders and check inventory records in the Facility Management System (FMS)
• Apply Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles to improve equipment efficiency and reduce downtime
• Select and wear the correct PPE and follow safety procedures, especially in confined spaces
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work and share AI-enabled improvements with colleagues

Required profile

• Diploma in Chemical or Environmental Engineering preferred
• Relevant experience in water or wastewater systems, or equivalent
