Finance Director / CFO – Public Markets (APAC)

About the role

Our client, a global investment platform, is creating a senior Finance Director / CFO position to lead the public markets finance function across APAC. Based in Singapore, the role will support senior stakeholders in fund finance, reporting, governance, controls and business partnering for Singapore, Hong Kong and China.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and own the finance function for the APAC public markets business, covering Singapore, Hong Kong and China.
• Act as the senior finance partner to investment teams, providing finance, reporting, governance and business‑planning support.
• Manage a lean finance team and expand the function as the platform grows.
• Oversee fund finance operations, including NAV oversight, valuation governance, investor and management reporting, and financial controls.
• Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, advisors and external service providers to ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Lead audits, regulatory reporting, compliance processes and internal‑control frameworks.
• Strengthen finance processes, documentation and governance standards as the business scales.
• Partner with senior stakeholders on portfolio oversight, operational execution and long‑term planning.
• Provide commercial input on fund structures, scalability and finance‑related business decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics or a related field.
• 9‑12 years of finance experience, preferably in asset management, hedge funds, family offices or public‑markets platforms.
• Strong hands‑on background in fund finance, controllership, financial reporting, audits and external service‑provider management.
• Experience working with fund administrators, auditors, advisors, investors and senior internal stakeholders.
• Exposure to public‑markets, open‑ended fund structures, equities or multi‑asset strategies is preferred.
• Experience operating across APAC or multi‑jurisdictional environments is advantageous.
• Big‑4 to buy‑side or investment‑platform finance background with operational finance exposure.
• Mandarin language capability is a plus but not required.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management and communication skills.
