Finance Operations Auditor (Quality Assurance)

About the role

The Finance Operations Auditor will ensure municipal projects meet the highest quality and regulatory standards. You will work closely with town council project teams to evaluate processes, assess risks, and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive audit plans covering project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
• Evaluate project processes and methodologies for compliance with quality standards and municipal regulations.
• Identify risks and weaknesses, providing actionable recommendations.
• Analyse project data and documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Conduct compliance checks against internal policies, professional ethics (ISCA), and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Perform follow‑up audits to confirm effective implementation of corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Recognised accounting degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience in external/internal auditing, compliance, quality assurance, or related fields.
• Experience with accounting, investigations, data analysis, control self‑assessment, ISO implementation, and enterprise risk management is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as CIA, CQA, CFE or similar are advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with audit software tools.
