Financial Controller - Asia

About the role

The Asia Financial Controller leads the regional accounting and financial control function across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with local regulations. Reporting to the Regional CFO, the role combines technical accounting leadership with business partnering to drive performance and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for all Asian entities.
• Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in line with IFRS and group standards.
• Manage intercompany accounting, eliminations and consolidation.
• Deliver management reporting packs with variance analysis and commentary.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements in each market.
• Coordinate statutory accounts preparation and regulatory filings.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and regulators.
• Design, implement and improve internal control frameworks across jurisdictions.
• Lead internal and external audits and remediate control issues.
• Oversee end‑to‑end accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, payroll, revenue recognition).
• Drive standardisation, automation and ERP enhancements for finance processes.
• Identify cost optimisation and efficiency opportunities within finance operations.
• Partner with FP&A on regional budgeting, forecasting and performance management.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading regional accounting and financial control functions across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and group accounting standards.
• Experience managing statutory reporting, tax compliance and regulatory filings in Asian markets.
• Ability to partner with senior leadership and drive performance improvements.
