Financial Controller - Digital Asset Custody

About the role

BitGo, a digital asset infrastructure company, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to own the finance and accounting function in Singapore, with a focus on its MAS-regulated Major Payment Institution entity. Reporting to the APAC Managing Director and working closely with the global Finance team, the role is accountable for the integrity of the books and records, statutory reporting and the control environment. It is a senior individual contributor role: the sole finance professional in-market, responsible for running the close, producing management accounts and presenting the numbers to leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end accounting function across BitGo's Singapore entities, including month-end and year-end close, general ledger integrity, reconciliations, accruals and intercompany eliminations.
• Produce monthly management accounts and entity P&L reporting for local and group consumption.
• Prepare statutory financial statements under IFRS and manage the annual audit, acting as primary liaison with external auditors.
• Ensure accurate accounting treatment for digital asset holdings, trading activity, client assets and multi-currency transactions.
• Deliver timely reporting to the global Finance team, including consolidation inputs and variance analysis.
• Maintain and strengthen the internal control environment to meet regulatory expectations and listed-company standards.
• Support regulatory readiness through financial governance and documentation, partnering with Compliance, Legal and Operations, and oversee ACRA and IRAS obligations.
• Provide the Managing Director with financial insight for commercial decisions, including entity P&L, cost management and revenue analysis.
• Own budgeting and forecasting for the Singapore business and support group capital planning.
• Partner with global Finance, FP&A and Tax, and identify process improvements and automation.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CA Singapore, CPA Australia or equivalent) with expert IFRS knowledge; US GAAP familiarity advantageous.
• 8-12 years of accounting experience across professional practice and industry.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency and digital asset trading, including valuation, custody and client asset treatment.
• Experience in a MAS-regulated Major Payment Institution and/or CMS licensee strongly preferred.
• Track record of owning a statutory audit end to end.
• Effective communicator across time zones with experience working with a global head office.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and ERP proficiency; NetSuite strongly preferred.
