Financial Controller – Hospitality Finance Leader

About the role
We are partnering with an established hospitality organisation to appoint an experienced Financial Controller who will lead the full finance function. This senior role will drive financial performance, ensure compliance, strengthen internal controls, and work closely with operational stakeholders to support growth and profitability.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting and business planning process.
- Prepare periodic financial forecasts and provide analytical support to management.
- Analyse financial performance, market trends, and operational data to support strategic decision‑making.
- Monitor key financial metrics and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial reports, balance sheets, P&L statements, bank reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Maintain complete accounting records in compliance with accounting standards and hospitality reporting requirements.
- Establish and strengthen financial and operational controls to safeguard company assets.
- Review financial performance against budget and forecast variances.
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance finance operations and reporting efficiency.
- Support taxation planning and reporting activities, including GST review and compliance.
- Manage hotel expenses, cash flow and working capital effectively.
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
Required profile
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
- Prior experience leading the full finance function within a hotel environment (highly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of USALI, SFRS/IFRS, GST and Singapore tax regulations.
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, audit, compliance and financial reporting processes.
- Understanding of internal controls, cash flow management and business partnering.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
- Knowledge of USALI, SFRS/IFRS, GST and Singapore tax regulations.
- Familiarity with hotel finance systems and ERP platforms.
