Freelance Portfolio Manager – AI Training Projects

About the role

We are looking for experienced finance professionals to join our freelance network and support AI‑driven testing projects for leading tech companies. You will design, evaluate, and document portfolio‑related test cases that help improve AI systems used in investment management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate Quarterly Business Review (QBR) scenarios, comparing performance against benchmarks and IPS tolerance bands.
• Create rebalancing and tax‑loss harvesting test cases, handling cost basis, capital‑gain classifications, and wash‑sale rule applications.
• Develop suitability check cases that assess risk tolerance, time horizon, prohibited holdings, and concentration limits against client Investment Policy Statements.
• Construct fee‑stack analysis cases, calculating portfolio‑weighted expense ratios, advisory fees, and all‑in cost comparisons.
• Document each test case with verified calculations, policy citations, and correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in finance, investment advisory, accounting or related financial services.
• Current or recent experience in advisory, portfolio management or adjacent roles.
• Strong knowledge of portfolio performance analysis, tax‑lot accounting, wash‑sale rules and Investment Policy Statements.
• Professional credential such as CFA, CFP, CPWA, CIMA or CIPM is a strong plus.
• Excellent written English (C1+ level).
