General Manager, Operations (Aerospace Manufacturing)

About the role

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is hiring an Operations Director (titled General Manager, Operations) for its Bedok site in Singapore. As the site leader, the person is overall responsible for the site, providing vision and long-term strategy to grow the business and deliver on customer expectations and GOPS business objectives such as Environment, Health & Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Operations Excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Create and implement operational strategies aligned with company objectives and plan for future demand and technological change
• Keep production efficient, cost-effective and quality-compliant, managing capacity so it meets customer demand
• Maintain quality control processes and compliance with aerospace standards, regulations and certifications
• Manage operational budgets, cost controls and continuous improvement to reduce expenses
• Oversee allocation of manpower, machinery and materials, and manage supplier and vendor relationships
• Integrate new technologies to improve production processes and productivity
• Lead the operations team, oversee recruitment, training and development, and mature the CORE operating system to cut waste and cycle times
• Enforce safety protocols, identify operational risks and promote sustainable manufacturing practices
• Partner with Global Trade and Ethics officers to build a compliance culture

Required profile

• Degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace
• At least 15 years of experience in the manufacturing industry
• At least 10 years of progressive managerial experience
• Knowledge of financial and management accounting
• An MBA or APICS CPIM certification in production and inventory management is an advantage
