Global Product Support (GPS) Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Global Product Support (GPS) Engineer based in Singapore. The role covers product support activities such as capturing lessons learned, contributing to reliability processes, and driving resolution of field issues.

Key responsibilities

• Capture legacy corrective actions and Lessons Learned in the New Products design intent.
• Contribute to the FMECA process.
• Develop new procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs) to service new products.
• Participate in Engineering Design Reviews.
• Partner with the Quality & Reliability (Q&R) group to review and address Top Field Issues.
• Participate in or own the CAPA process.
• Conduct or facilitate Failure Analysis (FA) if needed and drive resolution of key issues with Engineering.
• Own beta site test plans and reporting.
• Align with Global Technical Training (GTT) on training plans for new products and train the trainers.
• Identify new parts that need to be stocked by AGS and work with them to ensure parts are stocked in the correct locations.

Required profile

• Technical expert in a particular field, with in-depth or broad expertise in their discipline and knowledge of other disciplines in the function.
• Able to anticipate business and regulatory issues and recommend product, process or service improvements.
• Able to lead projects with notable risk and complexity, developing the strategy for project execution.
• Able to solve complex problems with broad business impact, using conceptual and innovative thinking.
• Able to communicate complex ideas, anticipate objections and persuade others, often at senior levels.
