Group Finance Director

About the role

Metabit is seeking a Group Finance Director to lead its global finance function and help build a world‑class quantitative hedge fund. Reporting to the Group COO, the role works closely with executive leadership, the General Counsel and senior stakeholders to design and execute a robust corporate and fund structure.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the COO and executive team to scale and institutionalise a world‑class finance platform.
• Design, implement and refine the group’s global corporate, fund and operating structures together with the COO and General Counsel.
• Build and lead the Group Finance function covering corporate accounting, fund accounting, taxation, treasury, procurement, budgeting, financial reporting, audit and finance operations.
• Establish institutional‑grade financial controls, policies, governance standards and reporting frameworks across all entities.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and produce management, consolidated, statutory and board reporting packs.
• Lead finance workstreams for new entity formation, fund launches, office expansion and strategic build‑out.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, fund administrators, banking partners and other service providers.
• Oversee all fund finance matters including NAV, capital activity, fee flows, expense allocations and investor reporting.
• Lead the group’s tax and transfer‑pricing agenda, cross‑border structuring and tax risk management.
• Develop budgeting, forecasting and business‑planning processes to support day‑to‑day management and long‑term strategy.

Required profile

• Senior, hands‑on finance leader with strong strategic judgment and operational execution capability.
• Proven experience in complex, multi‑entity investment platforms or hedge funds.
• Ability to work closely with executive leadership, legal counsel and external advisors.
• Deep understanding of corporate accounting, fund accounting, taxation, treasury and procurement.
• Track record of designing and implementing robust financial controls and governance frameworks.
