Head of AI Data Platform & Engineering

About the role

A large, technology-driven enterprise investing heavily in AI, data modernization and intelligent automation is looking for a Head of AI Data Platform & Engineering in Singapore. The role owns the enterprise data platforms that underpin AI adoption, leading teams across data engineering, platform engineering, information architecture and governance to build scalable, reusable foundations for advanced analytics, generative AI and intelligent automation.

Key responsibilities

• Define the long-term strategy for enterprise data platforms supporting AI, analytics and digital transformation.
• Lead the design and delivery of reusable data products, shared services and information assets across business functions.
• Establish modern approaches to data discovery, knowledge management, metadata and enterprise search.
• Build scalable retrieval, indexing and contextualisation capabilities that improve AI application quality and reliability.
• Drive architectural standards across data platforms, pipelines, storage, integration and AI-enabled services.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to prioritise investments and deliver high-value AI use cases.
• Implement governance frameworks covering data quality, security, lineage, privacy, compliance and responsible AI.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams and ensure platforms are reliable, observable, scalable and cost-efficient.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and scaling enterprise-wide data platforms supporting AI, advanced analytics and digital products, ideally in financial services, telecommunications, technology or other highly regulated sectors.
• Deep expertise in modern data architecture, data engineering and cloud-based data ecosystems in large organisations.
• Track record establishing data governance frameworks covering quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, security and compliance.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams across data engineering, platform engineering, information management and AI/data governance.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with knowledge graphs, semantic layers, vector databases, enterprise search and retrieval-based architectures (RAG).
• Modern data architecture and data engineering.
