Head of Compliance – APAC

About the role

KBC Bank Singapore is seeking a senior compliance leader to head its Asia‑Pacific compliance function. Reporting to the APAC General Manager and functionally to KBC Group Compliance, the role ensures the bank operates within all regulatory frameworks while supporting sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent regulatory oversight as the regional Head of Compliance for APAC, acting as a Second Line of Defence.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulators such as MAS and HKMA, managing inspections and supervisory engagements.
• Offer proactive regulatory advice, monitor developments, and manage key compliance risks including AML/CFT, sanctions and customer due diligence.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing regional compliance team, fostering a strong risk culture.
• Report on compliance risks, incidents and developments to senior management and governance committees.
• Drive continuous improvement of compliance processes, policies and controls across the region.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in compliance or regulatory roles within the banking sector, preferably in APAC.
• Proven ability to interact with senior management and regulators, providing clear challenge and guidance.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing regional teams.
• Deep understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions, and customer due‑diligence frameworks.
