Head of Procurement – Strategic Leadership Role

About the role

Ikano Retail is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Head of Procurement to lead and transform its procurement function across multiple markets. Reporting to the Deputy CEO, you will shape end‑to‑end procurement and contract management strategy, delivering cost optimisation, governance and long‑term business value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi‑market procurement strategy aligned with growth, cost optimisation and governance priorities.
• Lead complex, high‑value negotiations and build long‑term, value‑driven supplier partnerships across key spend categories.
• Build, lead and develop a high‑performing procurement organisation, enhancing capabilities in sourcing, contract management and supplier performance.
• Establish robust procurement and contract governance frameworks ensuring compliance, transparency and auditability.
• Drive excellence across the sourcing and contract lifecycle, from strategy through execution and performance monitoring.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across functions (Expansion, Property, FM, Fulfilment, Digital, Marketing, Food) to shape sourcing and contract strategies.
• Provide data‑driven insights on spend, contracts and risk to support strategic decisions.
• Champion procurement digitalisation, process standardisation and sustainable sourcing practices.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in strategic procurement and commercial negotiations within a retail or multi‑market environment.
• Proven track record of building and leading high‑performing procurement teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and drive governance.
