Import/Export Operations Specialist

About the role

DePuy Synthes, part of Johnson & Johnson, is recruiting an Import/Export Operations Specialist based in Central Singapore. The role supports day-to-day import and export operations so that products move across borders in a compliant, accurate and timely way, helping maintain trade compliance, supply chain continuity and efficient operations across regional and global markets. It offers hands-on exposure to trade processes in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute import and export transactions in line with customs, trade and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, review and maintain trade documentation such as customs declarations, invoices and shipping records.
• Coordinate with logistics providers, customs brokers and internal stakeholders for timely clearance and delivery.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve delays, documentation discrepancies or customs holds.
• Support compliance with trade regulations, internal policies and audit requirements.
• Maintain accurate records in trade, logistics and ERP systems, and assist with reporting, metrics tracking and data analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, accuracy and service levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business or a related field (required).
• Typically 3-5 years of experience in import/export operations, trade compliance, logistics or a related role.
• Preferred: experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals or other regulated industries, and familiarity with Singapore and Asia-Pacific trade regulations.
• English proficiency required; additional languages preferred.
• Minimal travel; occasional local or regional travel may be required.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of customs procedures, import/export regulations and trade documentation.
• Experience coordinating shipments with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
• ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Preferred: trade compliance, customs or logistics certifications, exposure to global trade management systems or customs software, and continuous improvement experience.
