Industrial Postgraduate Programme (IPP) – PhD/Research Opportunity

About the role

The Industrial Postgraduate Programme (IPP) offers highly motivated candidates the chance to pursue a PhD or Master’s degree while conducting applied research on a project jointly developed by a sponsoring company and a university. You will be supervised by both academic and industry mentors and will work on solutions that address real‑world business and technological challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out in‑depth research aligned with the company’s strategic needs.
• Collaborate closely with academic and industry supervisors throughout the project.
• Spend at least 50% of research time on the company’s premises.
• Prepare and publish academic papers or technical reports where applicable.
• Participate in regular reviews, seminars, and milestone assessments.
• Present findings to both academic and industry stakeholders.

Required profile

• Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, computing, science, or a related discipline.
• Strong academic record with an interest in applied research.
• Full‑time commitment for the duration of the programme.
• Alignment with the project’s research focus area and meeting university admission requirements.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Self‑driven and capable of working independently as well as in cross‑functional teams.
