Industry CTO - Manufacturing, Automotive & Energy (ASEAN)

About the role

Salesforce is hiring an Industry CTO for its Manufacturing, Automotive & Energy vertical, focused on ASEAN. The role shapes the industry technology vision and helps customers turn business ambition into measurable outcomes. The successful person builds solutions, demos and prototypes, develops trusted C-level relationships with key customers and champions Salesforce's technology point of view across customers, sales, solution engineering, product management and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and promote Salesforce's technology point of view through original perspectives, published content and executive presentations, linking industry trends to measurable business value.
• Speak at industry events, forums, executive roundtables and customer presentations, turning insights into reusable industry assets and guidance, and mentor technical teams.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with C-level leaders at key ASEAN customers, advising on investment, enterprise architecture and transformation.
• Partner with sales and solution engineering on major opportunities, business cases and executive engagement.
• Act as the link to Product Management, translating regional customer needs into prioritized product recommendations and closing the feedback loop with customers and account teams.
• Personally build industry solutions, demos and AI prototypes with technical teams to validate feasibility and business value.
• Monitor the competitive landscape and market dynamics to inform positioning, technology choices and differentiation strategies.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of industry business models, operating processes and regulatory considerations, with experience across diverse ASEAN markets.
• Track record of guiding large-scale industry-themed transformation across business lines.
• Experience building sustained, trusted relationships with C-level executives in ASEAN and influencing technology investment decisions.
• Hands-on expertise in at least one area, with a track record of building demos and prototypes for customer use cases.
• Experience synthesizing customer needs into product recommendations and collaborating with product management to influence roadmaps.
• Experience aligning partners and internal teams and mentoring technical talent.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce's competitors, alternative platforms and architectural trade-offs.
• Customer-focused, commercially minded, credible and collaborative, with a founder's mindset and ownership.

Required skills

• Deep practical knowledge of Salesforce technology, including architecture, data, integration and implementation details.
• Experience designing, configuring and building solutions, demos and prototypes across relevant clouds and industry capabilities.

It is even better if the candidate has strong industry or technology experience at Director level or equivalent, having progressed from hands-on technology roles into senior architecture or technology leadership, or from a technology or solutions vendor into senior technical or advisory roles.
