Intern, Asset Securitisation (Global Capital Markets)

About the role

ING's Asset Securitisation (ASec) team is expanding its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region and is looking for an intern to join its Global Capital Markets business. This is a six-month full-time internship starting in January 2027, based in Singapore, the regional headquarters of ING Wholesale Banking in Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Support the origination, structuring and execution of asset-backed securities (ABS) and residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) programmes, including balance sheet-funded deals and public capital markets securitisation transactions.
• Work closely with the Bond Syndicate on fast-paced public capital markets securitisation transactions.
• Help prepare credit memos and analyse the quantitative and qualitative aspects of transactions, including ABS/RMBS rating agency methodologies and cash flow modelling.
• Stay ahead of market developments, explore new asset classes and monitor issuers and investors in structured financial assets.
• Track developments in Asia-Pacific and European securitisation markets and advise clients on opportunities and trends.
• Act as first line of defence for credit and market risk on ASec's ABS/RMBS/Covered Loans/Warehouses/Swaps portfolio.

Required profile

• Currently undertaking an undergraduate degree, preferably in mathematics, (business) economics or econometrics.
• Ideally at least some experience in (wholesale) banking.
• Strong affinity for banking, regulations and financial products.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work in a global team across time zones.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
