Intern, Transaction Services Sales

About the role

ING's Wholesale Bank internship programme in Singapore (January to June, 6 months) offers students a place in the Transaction Services Sales team. Transaction Services covers trade and cash solutions for corporate clients, including letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees and working capital financing, and brings in liquidity through current and savings accounts. The internship gives hands-on experience in credit and financial analysis and transaction banking.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the TS Sales team in the lifecycle of a new or existing transaction, from opportunity inception to the first drawdown.
• Analyse clients' financial statements to produce an internal credit rating used to set credit appetite and pricing.
• Analyse trade and cash conversion cycles to identify working capital needs and opportunities.
• Help structure trade finance solutions and create commercial presentations for clients.
• Draft commercial green light requests and credit proposals, and help draft legal documents such as receivables purchase and risk participation agreements.
• Support transaction management of existing programmes, including funding requests, monitoring of funded assets and settlement reconciliations.
• Support budget, cost and other financial forecasting.

Required profile

• Critically minded, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Hands-on, willing to learn and able to handle stress.
• Able to work autonomously on several projects at once.
• Good communicator and team player.
• Prior experience in credit or financial analysis and financial accounting is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
