IT Technician – Tape Drive Replacement (Onsite, Singapore)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Information Technology Technician to join our on‑site team in Singapore for a tape‑drive replacement assignment. You will work closely with a remote support team to ensure a smooth swap of LTO tape drives and validate the system after the change.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the remote support team with the physical replacement of tape drives on site.
• Maintain console connectivity and perform basic troubleshooting during the swap.
• Coordinate with remote engineers throughout the replacement and validation process.
• Provide hands‑on, on‑site support and report status updates.

Required profile

• Proven experience with physical media handling, specifically LTO tape drives.
• Familiarity with tape‑drive alert flags and validation procedures.
• Ability to work independently on‑site and communicate effectively with remote teams.

Required skills

• LTO tape drive handling and physical media removal
• Console connectivity (RJ45 & USB)
• Basic networking knowledge
• PuTTY for remote access
• MS Teams for collaboration
• Use of labeling machine / printer
• Working laptop with required applications installed
• Stable high‑speed internet connection
