Junior Fullstack Software Engineer

About the role

foodpanda, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is looking for a Junior Fullstack Software Engineer to join its Growth domain and support the regional Product team in Singapore. You will work alongside an international team building the customer-facing experiences that help acquire, retain and grow customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain features across the frontend and backend of the global platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, international teams to understand requirements, manage priorities and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to the evolution of system architecture while following established design principles and engineering best practices.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code, take part in code reviews and follow coding standards.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration and functional tests.
• Work with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines and testing processes.
• Learn software design patterns and system reliability practices such as resiliency, monitoring, alerting and scalability.
• Troubleshoot technical issues across frontend apps, backend services and infrastructure with guidance from experienced engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience, preferably in fullstack web development.
• Familiarity with React and Golang; other frontend frameworks or backend languages are welcome.
• Basic understanding of software architecture, design patterns, algorithms and automated testing.
• Foundational knowledge of relational and distributed databases, including normalisation, ACID properties, transaction isolation and indexing.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience in agile, cross-functional, international teams.
• Good written and spoken English.
