KYC Specialist

About the role

A reputable Asian securities firm located opposite Clarke Quay MRT is hiring a permanent KYC Specialist for its Client Services team. The role focuses on KYC and client onboarding, working closely with business, compliance and operations teams so that all KYC documentation meets regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse client profiles to determine the required KYC information according to procedures.
• Support the review and collection of KYC documentation for new clients and analyse existing documents for individuals, corporates, funds and financial institutions.
• Carry out preliminary due diligence, name screening, background checks and basic risk assessments under internal AML/CFT/CPF guidelines.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and clients to obtain documents and resolve KYC issues or queries.
• Help track onboarding pipelines, outstanding items and periodic review schedules.
• Escalate deficiencies or red flags to senior team members and escalate operational and regulatory risks to line managers and functional leads, contributing to mitigation solutions.
• Maintain documentation, a data matrix and records, and support reporting, audit and regulatory requests.
• Take part in process improvement discussions and help improve operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in KYC/CDD or client onboarding (Associate: more than 3 years).
• Sophisticated AML/KYC knowledge in the banking or financial industry.
• Familiarity with AML/CFT/CPF standards and regulations such as CRS, FATCA and SIP.
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a compliance-oriented attitude.
• Team player who can multitask and meet tight deadlines; AML/CAMs certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; data tracking and basic analysis experience preferred.
• Proficient KYC profiling and account documentation.
