Land Surveyor

About the role

HDB is looking for a motivated Land Surveyor to shape Singapore's public housing landscape. You will apply your expertise in land surveying and geomatics to support HDB developments throughout the project life cycle, working closely with Registered Surveyors, planners, architects, engineers, consultants and government agencies. You will also work with advanced geomatics technologies such as 3D LiDAR, GNSS/RTK and mobile mapping.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise land survey works by Registered Surveyors, including site inspections and technical checks.
• Provide surveying input to planners, architects and engineers and resolve survey-related issues.
• Investigate and resolve complex survey, boundary and site discrepancies in line with statutory requirements.
• Liaise with government agencies on cadastral, strata, land and survey matters.
• Support engineering, topographical, cadastral and strata surveys, land alienation, as-built verification and other specialised surveys.
• Lead and support pilot projects using 3D LiDAR, GNSS/RTK, mobile mapping and other reality-capture technologies.
• Evaluate and implement new surveying methods, technologies and digital workflows.
• Review and manage survey and geospatial datasets, including 3D point clouds.
• Contribute to survey standards, quality-control processes and professional practices.
• Maintain records of survey activities and prepare technical reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics Engineering, Geodesy or a related discipline, preferably with 2-4 years of experience; fresh graduates may also be considered.
• Knowledge of land surveying principles, field practice, survey control and spatial data processing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and professional judgement skills, with good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Interest in emerging surveying and geomatics technologies.

Required skills

• Familiarity with robotic total stations, GNSS/RTK systems, UAVs and 3D LiDAR scanners.
• CAD, GIS, BIM or point-cloud processing software.
• Advantageous: cadastral, engineering or construction surveying, 3D LiDAR or 3D spatial data management.
