Lawyer, Investment & Financing

About the role

The Lawyer, Investment & Financing supports the Group Legal team at Sembcorp, a leading energy and urban solutions provider. You will work closely with senior legal counsel to provide legal assistance on a range of investment and financing transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, project finance and treasury matters.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conducting legal due diligence for M&A and investment opportunities.
• Support drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documents such as sale and purchase agreements, joint venture agreements and financing agreements.
• Provide legal support for project development activities, including review of EPC contracts and Power Purchase Agreements.
• Assist in advising on project and corporate finance transactions, reviewing loan agreements and security documents.
• Support treasury‑related legal work and internal corporate reorganisations.
• Conduct legal research on regulatory requirements across Asian jurisdictions and ensure compliance with SGX listing rules.
• Help manage external counsel, coordinate advice and monitor costs.

Required profile

• 5‑6 years post‑qualified experience (PQE) as a lawyer.
• Law degree from a recognised university and admission to the Singapore Bar.
• Proactive, collaborative team player with a strong desire to learn and develop.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
