Lead, Finance (R2R) - Record to Report

About the role

NTU Shared Services (NSS) Finance delivers end-to-end finance services across the University, and its Record-to-Report (R2R) function covers financial reporting, accounting integrity and data governance. This role leads R2R, covering General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Master Data Management, ensuring accurate and timely financial close and reporting. It also drives process optimisation, automation and transformation, positioning R2R as a strategic finance partner.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end R2R operations, including General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Master Data Management
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close, with strong cut-off discipline
• Manage balance sheet integrity, including reconciliation governance and timely resolution of exceptions
• Support preparation of management, statutory and audit reports, ensuring reliability and compliance
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements (including GST and Withholding Tax reporting validation) and NTU policies
• Review and validate GST/WHT returns against the General Ledger and underlying financial data
• Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks and audit readiness
• Drive process improvements, automation and digital initiatives such as RPA and analytics
• Oversee finance system governance and data integrity, including master data quality and controls
• Partner with OFIN, Schools, Departments and CITS to provide accounting advice and resolve complex issues
• Lead and develop the R2R team, building technical accounting, systems and data capabilities

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent (CPA/CA preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, General Ledger or R2R
• Experience leading teams and managing stakeholders
• Experience as a digital finance change agent on AI-enabled finance processes
