Lead Repair Development Engineer - Joining Technology

About the role

The Lead Repair Development Engineer, Joining Process, develops, industrializes and supports joining technologies for the Gas Power business globally. You will join the AMRT (Advanced Manufacturing & Repair Technology) Joining team and help industrialize processes around the global repair network to deliver quality and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new manufacturing and repair process technology to help component teams implement repair strategies or meet factory NPI requirements.
• Create and run qualification plans for repair materials and process technology with Repair Engineers.
• Ensure development processes are transferred successfully and validate repair service centers' qualifications and certifications for their repair procedures.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of joining processes such as welding and brazing to choose the right method for each application.
• Document technical data consistently with engineering policies and procedures.
• Provide lean support for continuous improvement and work with supply chain, component teams and productivity departments on improvements.
• Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and key developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Welding, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 in joining processes.
• Strong understanding of superalloy welding and brazing metallurgy.
• Knowledge of industrial gas turbine components and processes is advantageous.
• Good understanding of lean methodology, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to travel at least 10% of the time.
