Lead Software Engineer in Test (Mobile)

About the role

Grab is looking for a Lead Software Engineer in Test for its Mobile Test Automation Platform team (MALTA), which builds the software foundations and infrastructure for all Grab mobile apps. The role defines and scales Grab's end-to-end mobile testing strategy by building developer tooling, platform capabilities and operating processes used across multiple mobile teams, and improves how teams use automated test signals in CI/CD and release workflows. It is onsite in the Singapore office and reports to the Software Engineering Manager II, Mobile.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for scalable, reliable mobile E2E testing.
• Partner with engineering teams to adopt common tools, standards and quality practices.
• Establish quality governance and release-readiness guardrails across teams.
• Guide technical strategy for automation platforms, execution efficiency, recovery, reporting and diagnostics.
• Standardize test metadata and quality signals to support data-driven release decisions.
• Improve the developer experience across Android and iOS testing workflows.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, design reviews and hands-on collaboration.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in automated mobile testing.
• Ability to define a clear vision, strategy and roadmap for mobile test automation at scale.
• Experience driving adoption of engineering tools, processes, standards, governance and quality gates across teams.
• Strong knowledge of Android and iOS E2E testing and CI/CD integration.
• Experience improving test reliability and speed through sharding, retries, failure analysis and flaky-test management.
• Experience building maintainable automation platforms, services and integration tooling.
