Lead Systems Engineer - IT Network Communications

About the role

Singapore Airlines is looking for an experienced Network and Communication Operations Engineer to oversee the design, implementation and management of the SIA Group's network operations. The main goal is to ensure maximum network availability and functionality so that the airline can meet its business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously transform the network infrastructure to improve availability and automation.
• Provide network consultancy project support so that IT services comply with SIA architecture and standards.
• Create technical solutions for complex requirements.
• Run large-scale network operations in a multi-vendor environment with strong service management knowledge.
• Track, plan and execute technology refreshes.
• Deliver large-scale IT projects on time, within budget and to satisfactory quality.
• Manage outsourced vendors and the internal team, including service delivery meetings.
• Lead and coordinate incident resolution across vendors.
• Work in a team providing 24/7 support.

Required profile

• Degree with at least 6-10 years of network experience managing network operations in a multi-vendor environment, covering at least two of the following domains: security, network automation.
• Experience planning, designing and implementing network infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving and logical thinking skills to isolate issues in a complex environment.
• Excellent communication, consulting and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated industry awareness.

Required skills

• Level 2 and preferably Level 3 experience in networking technologies such as SD-WAN (Cisco Viptela, Versa), wireless (Aruba), voice, contact centre and collaboration, LAN (Cisco and Aruba) and NAC (ISE and ClearPass).
• Cloud technologies knowledge.
• Automation experience with Ansible or Python.
• Certifications in networking (e.g. Cisco, Aruba, Versa) are preferred.
