Lecturer - Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning

About the role

The School of Infocomm at Republic Polytechnic is looking for a dynamic, motivated individual who can work effectively in a team. As a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence, you will shape the next generation of AI professionals by teaching AI, machine learning and deep learning, covering how machines simulate human intelligence in learning, comprehension, creativity and problem-solving.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver the curriculum, and supervise practical projects.
• Teach AI, ML, DL and generative AI, including models that learn from data for chatbots, self-driving cars and voice recognition.
• Guide students in building data science infrastructure, data preprocessing and cleansing.
• Plan for deployment into production environments.
• Supervise projects in speech recognition, data mining and advanced robotics.
• Collaborate with experts and communicate the utility of AI to diverse audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field; a Master's or Ph.D. in AI, ML or Data Science is highly preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience as an AI Specialist, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer or similar AI development role.
• Relevant AI/ML certifications (e.g. Azure AI Fundamentals, AWS Machine Learning, Google AI) are beneficial.
• Strong communication, teamwork and pastoral skills, with a genuine passion for mentoring students and understanding AI ethics, data privacy and bias.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, Flutter and C++.
• Good knowledge of linear algebra, calculus, statistics and probability.
• Extensive experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow and Keras, and ML/deep learning algorithms.
• Cloud platforms for AI deployment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Data modelling, mining and processing.
