About the role
This is a two‑year fixed‑term position as a Lecturer in Industrial Automation within the School of Engineering. You will deliver undergraduate and postgraduate education on automation technologies, industrial control systems, and production digitalisation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials and hands‑on workshops covering PLC programming, HMI development and smart sensor integration.
- Teach industrial networking, IIoT gateways and OPC UA protocols for data collection and OEE calculations.
- Provide practical training on industrial control networks, OT cybersecurity and digitalisation tools.
- Supervise final‑year projects, mentor students and assess assignments, quizzes and exams.
- Engage with industry partners to create collaboration opportunities and organise overseas study trips or exchange programmes.
Required profile
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum three years of industry experience in industrial automation and production digitalisation.
- Passion for teaching, strong communication skills and ability to develop engaging curriculum.

- PLC programming (IEC 61131‑3)
- C/C++ and Python
- Industrial networking and IIoT
- OPC UA, RFID and PLC web servers

- Vision systems, smart sensors, cameras, actuators and motor drives
