Lecturer - Mobility & Robotic Systems

About the role

Republic Polytechnic is hiring a Lecturer for its School of Engineering, focusing on Mobility and Robotic Systems. The role covers teaching and curriculum development in large mobility and smart robotic engineering systems, including automation, manufacturing, Industry 4.0/5.0, Intelligent Transport Systems, autonomous vehicles and electric vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop curriculum, deliver courses and supervise student projects in large mobility and smart robotic systems.
• Develop and deliver Continuing Education and Training (CET) lessons.
• Identify and lead new industry collaborations and opportunities, and undertake project development or consultancy work with industry.
• Handle administrative work related to the programme and carry out student development activities.
• Mentor and motivate students in their learning journey.

Required profile

• Degree in electrical, electronic, mechanical or mechatronic engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience designing, deploying and commissioning robotics, automation systems or Intelligent Transport Systems is preferred.
• Excellent initiative, strong multitasking and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively as a team player.

Required skills

• Programming and electronics comfort (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Python or similar).
• Hands-on experience with robotics, ROS, robot programming, Industry 4.0/5.0, IIoT, collaborative or mobile robots, or intelligent transport systems is an advantage.
