Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Mathematics Education

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a dynamic Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join its Mathematics and Mathematics Education (MME) Department. This role supports Singapore’s world‑class mathematics education system through teaching, research, and collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mathematics education.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate research projects and school practicum placements.
• Conduct high‑quality research in mathematics education and contribute to scholarly publications.
• Liaise with the Singapore Ministry of Education on curriculum and teacher‑education matters.
• Provide consultancy and professional development for mathematics teachers.

Required profile

• PhD in Mathematics Education with relevance to Singapore’s context.
• Minimum 10 years of classroom teaching experience in primary/elementary and middle/secondary schools.
• At least five years of middle‑management experience, preferably as Head of Department (Mathematics) or equivalent.
• Experience delivering teacher‑training or professional development programmes.
