Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Special Education (PCHD)

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join its Psychology and Child & Human Development (PCHD) Department. The successful candidate will teach and develop programmes in Special Needs Education for undergraduate, graduate and professional audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver courses at undergraduate, graduate and professional development levels.
• Conduct research that informs educational practice and policy, especially in teaching and learning.
• Build an active research programme and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Establish collaborations with local and international academic and professional communities.
• Contribute to curriculum development, programme leadership and institutional initiatives.
• Undertake administrative duties and service within the department.
• Share expertise through seminars, workshops and collaborative platforms.

Required profile

• Doctorate in a relevant field, preferably with a specialization in special needs education.
• Minimum of four years of excellent teaching experience, including innovative approaches and use of educational technology.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
