Legal Counsel – 6‑month Temporary Contract

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join Mercedes‑Benz Singapore’s Regional Legal team on a six‑month temporary contract covering maternity leave. The role will be fully integrated into the legal function, partnering with business leaders and regional colleagues across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal point of contact for B2B and B2C business stakeholders, providing commercially‑focused advice.
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of contracts, ensuring protection of the company’s legal rights.
• Lead negotiations with business partners, government authorities and external parties.
• Manage litigation, disputes, investigations and audits as required.
• Develop and maintain legal templates, terms and conditions, privacy and cookie policies.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on business impact.
• Draft and review internal legal policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Provide legal and compliance training to management and employees.
• Support Mercedes‑Benz Legal Headquarters with reviews, audits and corporate governance matters.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with several years of experience in commercial law.
• Commercially astute and proactive with a strong business partnership mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, international environment.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience in litigation, contract management and regulatory compliance.
