Legal Counsel – Energy & Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Hanwha Ocean EPU is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its Energy Plant Unit in Singapore. The role will provide practical legal guidance across contract, corporate, compliance and commercial matters for offshore, onshore and EPC/EPCI projects.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business functions and project teams on contractual, commercial, corporate and regulatory issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, NDAs, service contracts, procurement terms and inter‑company arrangements.
• Support contract risk assessments, change requests, warranty matters, claim handling and dispute avoidance.
• Assist with corporate governance, entity management, delegated authority, regulatory filings and internal approvals.
• Coordinate compliance programmes covering ethics, anti‑corruption, trade, data privacy and records management.
• Liaise with external counsel, manage scopes, budgets and status tracking.
• Partner with HR, procurement, finance, IT, operations and commercial teams to align legal advice with business needs.

Required profile

• Solid experience as a corporate or commercial lawyer, preferably in offshore/onshore, EPC/EPCI or energy‑related projects.
• Strong drafting and negotiation capabilities with the ability to work independently on moderately complex matters.
• Familiarity with corporate governance, compliance frameworks and regulatory environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
