Legal Counsel - Engineering & Construction Projects

About the role

A well-established engineering and construction organisation with a track record of large-scale industrial, power and infrastructure projects is recruiting a Legal Counsel in Singapore. Reporting to senior management, the role provides legal advice on commercial, contractual and corporate matters within the Legal department, supporting the business with clear and practical guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on commercial, contractual and corporate matters
• Review, draft and negotiate agreements and project contracts
• Support contract administration, dispute avoidance and claims management
• Advise project and business teams on legal risk, compliance and contractual obligations
• Assist with corporate governance, including entity establishment and restructuring
• Manage relationships with external law firms and specialist legal advisers
• Work with internal stakeholders to strengthen legal processes and risk management frameworks

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification
• Minimum 8 years of post-qualification legal experience
• Proven experience supporting EPC, infrastructure or large-scale project environments
• Demonstrated track record in contract drafting, negotiation and commercial advisory work
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively
