Legal Counsel (Funds)

About the role

The Legal Counsel (Funds) will serve as a trusted business partner to the Group CEO and senior management, providing expert legal guidance on risk and governance matters within a highly regulated environment. This in‑house position focuses on fund structuring, regulatory compliance, and supporting the growth of the organization’s investment vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drafting, review and negotiation of fund establishment and constitutive documents, with emphasis on Variable Capital Companies (VCCs) and related structures.
• Support incorporation and ongoing maintenance of fund and management company entities, including overseas office set‑up and coordination with corporate secretarial service providers.
• Interpret regulatory requirements affecting fund operations and licensing, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
• Provide timely legal advice to investment, operations and management teams on fund‑related matters.

Required profile

• LL.B from a reputable institution.
• 5–7 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in funds or investment‑management legal work.
• Strong leadership abilities and proven capacity to influence cross‑functional teams.
