Legal Counsel (In-house)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Legal Counsel to serve as the sole in‑house lawyer, providing strategic legal, governance and compliance advice to senior management and the Board. You will own the legal function and act as a trusted advisor across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pragmatic, risk‑based legal advice on contracts, transactions and strategic initiatives.
• Manage external counsel and oversee all governance and compliance matters, including Companies Act, PDPA and employment legislation.
• Support Board and shareholder activities, prepare resolutions and liaise with the external company secretary.
• Draft, review and maintain a wide range of agreements such as service, employment, consultancy, partnership and licensing contracts.
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance on intellectual property, data protection, regulatory requirements and statutory filings.
• Develop and maintain legal templates, policies and training programmes to reduce exposure.

Required profile

• Admitted to practice law in Singapore or a comparable common‑law jurisdiction.
• Minimum 6 years post‑qualification experience, preferably with both law‑firm and in‑house exposure.
• Experience or strong interest in the pharma/biotech sector.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• High integrity, sound judgement and strong commercial acumen.
