Legal Manager

About the role

Traveloka is seeking a Legal Manager to provide comprehensive legal support for its international operations across Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The role will involve advising business units on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, licensing, and consumer protection within the travel and e‑commerce sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as partnership, procurement, and distribution contracts.
• Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory developments and emerging compliance risks.
• Support cross‑border projects, new market entries, and business initiatives from a legal risk perspective.
• Collaborate with regional and global legal, compliance, and business teams on cross‑functional matters.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes in target jurisdictions and provide proactive guidance.
• Work closely with HR on employment matters, including sensitive employee situations.
• Manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality support.
• Assist with dispute resolution, regulatory inquiries, and other legal issues as they arise.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 6‑8 years of progressive experience, including both law‑firm and in‑house roles.
• Exposure to at least one target market (Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines) through in‑house work, private practice, or secondments.
• Solid grounding in multi‑jurisdictional regulatory matters such as employment law, corporate/entity management, consumer protection, or sector‑specific licensing.
• Experience engaging directly with regulators or government authorities is a strong advantage.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills in English; Korean proficiency is a plus.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver pragmatic, business‑oriented legal advice.
