Legal Officer – Contracts (Construction/Energy)

About the role

The Legal Officer will provide comprehensive legal advice to internal stakeholders across a range of matters, including contracts, corporate structuring, compliance, banking, finance, construction, employment and dispute resolution. The role focuses on the construction and energy sectors, ensuring that commercial decisions are supported by sound legal analysis and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on contracts, corporate organization, compliance, banking, finance, construction, employment and dispute resolution.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and term sheets for construction/energy projects.
• Conduct legal research to support business operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in drafting corporate secretarial documents, policies, guidelines and legal templates.
• Collaborate with commercial, operations, finance, projects and management teams to achieve business objectives while limiting legal exposure.
• Maintain filing systems, organize documents and follow up on signed contracts for internal and external compliance.
• Update, standardise and maintain legal document templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Law from a reputable university in a Commonwealth jurisdiction or equivalent.
• Qualified lawyer with 1‑3 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Experience in a law firm, government agency or in‑house legal department.
• Relevant experience in construction, utilities, power, infrastructure or a law firm specialising in construction or dispute resolution.

• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am – 6 pm.
• On‑site work location near Promenade MRT, Singapore.
• Salary range: SGD 4,000 – SGD 6,000 per month.
