Library Assistant (School Deployment)

About the role

Civica, a global organisation of over 5,000 employees that provides cloud software to public services, is recruiting Library Assistants to work in schools across Singapore. The aim is to promote good reading habits among students. Full-time positions are available, and the role suits candidates who want work-life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Process and circulate library resources efficiently for students and other patrons
• Shelve materials according to recognised standards such as DDC for school libraries
• Catalogue and process new materials promptly
• Create promotional materials and displays supporting the school curriculum and library programme
• Run library programmes and activities
• Generate regular reports on loans, overdue items, fines and other collection statistics
• Assist patrons with queries and follow up on overdue, damaged or lost books, including withdrawing, repairing or reconditioning them
• Keep the library tidy and maintain clear, accurate shelf signs
• Stocktake and weed library materials

Required profile

• 4 GCE 'O' level passes, including English
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Enjoys interacting with students and teachers
• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Open to learning the Library System, with training provided
• Able to work independently and reasonably fit, as lifting and shelving books is required
