Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) – Shift

About the role

The Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) works on a shift basis to ensure continuous availability of utilities and process equipment. The role is field‑oriented and involves both routine and project‑related activities, supporting the startup of new facilities and maintaining existing plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on process and utility equipment.
• Execute work orders following SOPs, work instructions and LOTO procedures.
• Coordinate annual shutdowns, startups, swing‑overs and routine equipment inspections.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, determine root causes and implement immediate corrective actions.
• Update and close work orders in the CMMS promptly.
• Contribute to reliability improvement projects and plant optimisation initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of EHS, GMP compliance and housekeeping.
• Liaise with external contractors for specialised maintenance tasks.
• Provide feedback on recurring maintenance issues and trends.

Required profile

• Diploma/ITC/NITEC/NTC in Mechanical or Mechatronics.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance or engineering experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or petrochemical environments is preferred.
• Hands‑on knowledge of equipment such as filter dryers, centrifuges, single‑cone dryers, glass‑lined reactors and temperature control units.
• Familiarity with instrumentation (temperature, pressure, level, flow, humidity, analyzers, pneumatic systems, sensors, control valves, pH and conductivity meters).
• Welding skills are an advantage.
