Manager, Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Manager, Customer Engineer in Singapore. The role manages the service and warranty business for key accounts, supports customer engineers and drives service quality and uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast financial, manpower and operational requirements for start-ups, warranties, service agreements and paid services, and pursue service agreement business with marketing and sales
• Manage start-ups by time and cost, local inventory and RMA procedures, and maintain DSO and warranty costs under reserve
• Ensure customer satisfaction with service and system performance, and escalate system down-times so systems return to service as quickly as possible
• Hire, train and supervise customer engineers, and develop their skills and career paths
• Ensure safety practices and promote quality improvement to reduce cycle time and improve technical performance
• Develop managerial and specialist talent and achieve the uptime and other parameters sold to customers

Required profile

• In-depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles in the own job family and basic knowledge of related ones
• Understanding of the industry and how the area contributes to business objectives
• Ability to manage a generally homogeneous team and adapt plans to service and operational challenges
• Ability to identify and resolve technical, operational and organisational problems
• Ability to guide, influence and persuade others internally and externally
• Compliance with Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical conduct
